Born in the Adams Township, Snyder County, Pennsylvania Oscar had always been fond of tales of the western frontier and the tribes that littered the landscape. Digging and collecting arrowheads as a hobby help grow his interest in the culture. Always a good natured individual Oscar finds the good in most people and things, which has lead to poor choices in female friends in his youth. A graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a doctorate in historical studies predominately in the field of Native American Indian archeology and anthropology Dr. Dunstan decided to stay in at the university to teach, buying an apartment in Philadelphia for himself and pet tabby “Duchesses�.
Life in academia had been for the most part normal till about two years ago when a scandal and rumors began to spread about an affair with a student which never was shown proven nor traced to any hard evidence, never the less his good name had blemish which be profusely defends whenever bought upon in conversation. Other then the scandal Professor Dunstan is regarded as the man to go to about local Indian customs and artifacts.
An avid smoker of finer cigars and quality liquors (which he has his own supply of stashed at home for his own use) he also has a preference for tailored suits and blondes. Use to go skiing out in Whiteface New York and Vermont before settling in a more quite life in academia, which has taken weaken him physical as paper punching would at anyone. He is a socialist at heart, though keeps his opinions to himself in public due to fear of losing his position as lecturer at the university.
Both parents (Richard & Elizabeth Dunstan) are of failing health and advance age but still living at the home he grew up in as a child. He had one younger sister (Orinda) who died in a fire five years ago out in San Francisco, leaving only a widower Samuel Smith, of which Oscar still communicates with on and off since.
